I mean, people have been preaching about the death of AoE2 and AoE3 since their conception! Are they dead yet? Far from it. He's still gonna cover the big leagues, theres going to be a Outback Octagon 3, and he's gonna keep selling his coaching services on patreon. He's taking a break from PLAYING AOE, but that dosn't mean he "quitted" covering AoE. He makes a living out of AoE, i mean, look at his patreon. He will play whatever game he feels he's in the mood to play. So if it isn't hurting AoE4, would it be fair to assume that it would hurt Company of Heroes 3, their most recently released game?īecause personally, even if it makes no sense to cut developers for AoE4 due to "guaranteed" money, it also makes no sense to completely halt momentum of your personal project that you've spent years on. A LOT of people were let go, and I think it'd be unfair to imagine that this wouldn't hurt any of their endeavours. We don't know their contract nor the manner in which this happened, and what they prioritized. Business managers in between are scouring the offices like rats, seeking to validate their role. Investors are constantly pressuring higher ups to make profits, which always puts cutting employees on the table, in exchange for bigger bonuses. But, if Microsoft's requirements are sloppy enough that executives or managers think they could get away with fewer employees, you better bet that they'd go for it.ĭeath by a thousand cuts seems to be the standard of many companies today.
